• Correlation coefficients are used to measure how strong a relationship is between two variables.

• There are several types of correlation coefficient, but the most popular is Pearson’s Product-Moment correlation coefficient, which is commonly used in linear regression.

• Correlation plots help you to visualize the pairwise relationships between a set of quantitative variables by displaying their correlations using color or shading.
