Regression predictors

• Adding predictors should decrease residual standard deviation and thus reduce required sample size (see example in 16.6)

• In general, standard errors of coefficients are proportional to \(1/\sqrt{n}\), so reducing error by half requires 4 times the samples.

• Samples size is never large enough! Your inferential needs will increase with your sample size.
